Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026. Governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.

Important Disclaimer: Student Project Notice

Reach is an independent communication utility built and maintained by a university student developer. Reach is not a commercial telecommunications carrier, government body, or licensed telco operator. The platform acts solely as a software interface connecting users to third-party telecommunications gateways (e.g., Arkesel, MTN, Telecel, AT Ghana) and payment gateways (Paystack).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, topping up your wallet, or using Reach to compose and dispatch SMS or Voice robocalls, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the platform.

2. User Responsibility & Full Content Indemnity

You, as the sender, are solely and personally responsible for the contents, recipient phone numbers, timing, and legality of any messages or audio recordings you broadcast. You agree that:

  • You possess prior consent or legitimate authorization from contacts in your audience to receive your messages.
  • You will never dispatch spam, unsolicited commercial messages, get-rich-quick scams, phishing attempts, defamatory content, hate speech, or harassment.
  • You will indemnify and hold completely harmless the student developer, maintainers, and platform operators against any and all civil claims, regulatory fines, legal proceedings, or damages resulting from the messages you send.

3. Sender ID Verification & Anti-Spoofing

Alphanumeric Sender IDs are regulated by the National Communications Authority (NCA) of Ghana. In order to register a custom Sender ID, you must submit a signed Letter of Authorization and identity verification documents (Ghana Card or Business Registration Certificate). Impersonation of financial institutions, mobile money providers, telecommunication companies, or state security agencies is strictly prohibited. Any attempt to spoof protected entities will result in immediate account termination, wallet forfeiture, and formal reporting to law enforcement authorities.

4. Prepaid Wallet, Gateway Consumption & Billing

Reach operates on a prepaid credit system funded via Paystack using Mobile Money (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AT Money) or debit cards. Standard rates apply per 160-character SMS segment and per answered voice call unit. Wallet credits do not expire. Unanswered voice calls are credited back to your balance automatically. Funds deposited into your Reach wallet are used to purchase upstream telecommunications bandwidth and are non-refundable once allocated or consumed.

5. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer of Warranties

Reach is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The developer is not liable for delayed dispatches, network downtime, carrier gateway rejections, telecom cell tower failures, or handset unavailability. Under no circumstances shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use this platform.

6. Account Termination

The developer reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account found in violation of carrier regulations, spam laws, or these terms without prior notice.
